The Reason Why Men Sometimes Have Incontinence Issues
Incontinence in men is a problem that is often attributed to age, the kind of diet a man consumes on a daily basis and any other contributing factors that would or could create an incontinence problem. In a recent study performed by the AMA, there are three kinds of incontinent problems that are usually associated with men.
The first of these is Urge Incontinence. This has to do with the problem of the urge to go to the bathroom and the person cannot stop the urge from happening. The person usually loses control of their bodily functions; meaning that urine and fecal matter are expelled when the person is not sitting on the toilet. Embarrassment and shame usually come from this above action.
The second of these is Stress Incontinence. This has to do with the problem of the involuntary loss of urine and feces during coughing, sneezing, and lifting heavy objects. These are all contributing factors to Stress Incontinence and mean that there is already stress on the bladder and rectum from the involuntary action, hence why the above actions cause again, an embarrassing and socially unacceptable problem.
The third of these is Overflow Incontinence. This simply means that urine can weep from the penis and fecal matter, usually in the form of diarrhea, can leak from the rectum. It is largely associated with going to the bathroom frequently and going in small amounts as well. This third problem is usually associated with men over the age of 65.
These problems that men experience are often treatable with drugs and strong medicines. Combined with a monitoring of diet and exercise, the problems caused by incontinence can usually be taken care of and managed far better than one could do without the assistance of these special drugs and medicines. It is a comfort to the person suffering these problems that such remedies exist and one can effectively manage the problems of incontinence with confidence and assuredness.
The stress and daily problems a man can face when looking at the problem of incontinence can be lessened greatly when looking at the factors present to help those who are dealing with this difficult and often socially unacceptable problem. It can really become a major issue so it’s important that you seek out medical attention. That might seem like a very hard option to pursue, but it’s better you do this than let it slide.
