Does Laser Hair Removal Hurt?
The truth is that laser removal hurts. The level of pain depends on many factors such as type of laser used,
person's skin and hair type, doctor's skills and patient's pain threshold. Some people said it hurts like hell,
but most people tolerate it very well because the discomfort is about as much as getting waxed.
As a general rule, laser hair removal tends to hurt less for people with finer hair and lighter skin tones.
It is also a fact that a person has some areas of the body more sensitive than another, so sometime hair
laser removal hurts, sometime don't.
There are many different lasers on the market. Some of them are not great on dark or black skin as they will
scar/burn, but these newer lasers get past that. Lasers having cooling system feature provide an additional
anesthetic effect.
Before to decide if you will remove your hair ask for a free demo to see how you like it. Applying an anesthetic
prior to laser procedure will lessen any discomfort. Another option is to take Tylenol a few hours prior to
treatment. Wimpy persons can ask doctor to a script for 4% xylecaine to apply to the treated area after the
procedure.
