Type 2 diabetes and the risk to face death earlier
As you already know, the Type 2 diabetes is the most common type diabetes in which either the body cannot produce
enough insulin for internal processes or the body cells ignore the insulin. Type 2 diabetes is developed in later
life and is close associated to obesity and diet.
A recent study published in journal of Diabetic Medicine says that Type 2 diabetes patients are prone to meet death
earlier than those of the same age but not having this disease. The researchers explain their conclusion by the high
risk of those diabetic patients to developed complications leading to death. Among conditions mentioned are kidney
failure, heart disease, strokes, blindness and nerve damages leading to amputations.
On the other hand, the study authors suggests that this risk to face death earlier can be reduced if type 2 diabetes
sufferers get the right care they need to manage their condition. Beside an appropriate treatment and care, lifestyle
changes such as increased physical activity, a healthier diet and weight loss have a positive influence.
